Madeira – a dream holiday destination!

Is Madeira a wholesome summer holiday destination? Yes indeed – and for many reasons!

Wonderful weather

Tired of hot weather? Eager to get away from the summer heat? If yes, then Madeira is perfect for you! Sometimes rainy, sometimes cloudy, always breezy, with summer temperatures of approximately 24°C, Madeira offers perfect conditions to any explorer. I personally love such weather, ideal for virtually any summer activity.

Accessibility

In Europe, it’s hard to find a place where you can escape the summer heat. Madeira is among the precious few that offer a breath of fresh air, and it’s also easily accessible for Europeans. Just a few hours by plane away there is a whole different world – and it’s still in Europe. A dream come true!

Hawaiian landscape

Once you’re there, it’s a great idea to rent a car and go to the North of the Island, where you can admire majestic mountains with the ocean at their feet, with black beaches and natural swimming pools. You can then go through the vast Paul de Serra plateau in the middle of the island. Using public transport we can reach the Gulf of St. Lawrence, or the highest cliff of the island, Cabo Girao. Spectacular viewpoints, such as Vereda dos Balcoes, offer wonderful, panoramic views – a feast for your eyes and soul!

Wanderlust

Madeira is wonderfully green and full of everblooming flowers – there is a reason the island is known as the Land of Eternal Spring! Its beautiful nature – with places such as the Fanal forest – has many secrets. Although Madeira wouldn’t be my first choice for a beach holiday, it’s perfect for fans of trips (on foot or by bike). Just don’t forget your trekking shoes!

And if you add vast spaces without crowds of tourists and excellent wine (poured generously) to all that, I think there are no more doubts where you should go this summer!
